Overview – Policy besides the fiscal cliff
Policy dominated market attention beyond the fiscal cliff negotiations this week. The Fed announced Treasury purchases in line with market expectations, but surprised by anchoring the forward guidance to economic thresholds. The Senate blocked a bill to extend unlimited FDIC insurance on TAG accounts.
